Designing a New Home Has Never Been Easier!

Designing a New Home Has Never Been Easier!

Who says good design has to be complicated or expensive? Most builders won’t tell their buyers this, but at Kindred Homes, we will. Designing a new home doesn't have to be overwhelming or intimidating! We show that every day. We have researched countless products to ensure that the choices at our home design center exceed your expectations and make the process of designing your home easy and enjoyable.

Our Home Design Features Are Sure To Satisfy

From flooring and paint colors to lighting and plumbing fixtures, our exclusive home design studio allows you to easily choose the finishes and color choices that fit your personal style while allowing you to stay within your budget. You can come to the studio and see and touch everything that’s going into your new home while enjoying the talent and expertise of our in-house design geniuses.

At Kindred Homes, we offer a range of unique design features that lift our homes a step above our competitors. In addition to giving you the ability to personalize your home with the dedicated team at the design center, we also offer open-concept layouts that are ideal for today’s modern families. The open main living area is ideal for every day with the family as well as entertaining friends and family. Tall ceilings, plenty of windows, and an airy ambiance make every Kindred home feel larger. And, you have plenty of freedom to stage the rooms with flexible configurations. Many of our plans include “flex” spaces, too, such as a study, den, game room, or media room. Our homes also include outdoor living spaces to take advantage of warmer days.

Our luxury design features include 8-ft interior doors, stainless steel appliances, your choice of tile in the owner’s shower, 5-inch base molding, and 42-inch upper cabinets in the kitchen. Some of our homes also include glass-enclosed showers, boxed ceilings, 18-ft ceilings, extended covered patios, and separate vanities in the owner’s bath. Another major benefit of Kindred Homes is that each home includes full irrigation and landscaping, so there’s less outdoor maintenance and upkeep. Definitely a step above!

Tips For Working With A Home Design Center

Building a home from the ground up offers an incredible opportunity to create a home with everything you want, with all of the details you love. And, for many homeowners, one of the most exciting parts of the process is going to the Design Studio to choose fixtures, finishes, and more.

What are the biggest benefits of going to the Design Studio? 1.) Being able to see and feel the choices when selecting cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, flooring, lighting, etc. Having the opportunity to compare all of the options side by side makes decisions much easier. 2.) In-person guidance. Face-to-face meetings with design experts help with all aspects of designing your new home. 3.) One-stop shopping. Being able to make all of your selections in one place, at one time, removes a lot of time and stress from the process.

While your Design Studio appointment is one of the most eagerly anticipated steps in the home-building process, it may also feel overwhelming…at first! So many options… so many decisions! As with any large goal, a bit of planning and preparation go a long way. We’ve put together some tips that will help make your design appointment exciting and stress-free.

  1. Start a Lookbook. Think of this task as the most fun homework assignment you’ve ever gotten. A lookbook is a collection of photos that you put together to draw inspiration from. Browse sites like Pinterest, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Country Living, Better Homes and Gardens, and whichever publication catches your eye! Create a folder of photos on your desktop or print them out to start visualizing exactly what you want.
  2. Write Out Your Must-Haves. Keep a list of the things that are non-negotiable. Know which items you absolutely want to have in your home, and which can you let go of if need be. Writing out a list will save you time while allowing you to really focus on the design elements that you’re not entirely sure about yet.
  3. Stick To Your Timeline. When it comes to your design appointment, one of the ways you can help yourself (and your team) is to stick to the schedule — which means prioritizing your appointment over other commitments that can be moved and working with your Design Specialist to make your decisions on time. This will allow the rest of your process to be smooth sailing!
  4. Know Your Budget. If you go into your design appointment with a clear idea of what you’re hoping to spend (and how flexible you can be), you can make the best use of your time and feel confident with all of your choices. As expert design coordinators who work with budgets of all sizes, our design specialists will take you through all of the options that fit within yours, so you can be sure that you’re not missing out on anything.
  5. Get A Head Start. Drive through our communities. Visit our model homes. Browse our photo galleries. Create your “wishlist”. Then, when you meet with your design specialist, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running.
  6. Have Fun! This part of the process is all about creating the heart and soul of your home, and we want it to be enjoyable from beginning to end. Dress comfortably, feel confident in your choices, keep an open mind, and start bringing your dream home to life. Enjoy!

With a bit of preparation, you can make sure that this experience is one you’ll remember fondly each time you look around your gorgeous new home.
