What's vital to me when it comes to my new home?

Take a look at what you currently love about your living situation and what things are encouraging you to make a move. It is crucial to have an idea of your must-haves versus your nice-to-haves when you begin to search for a new home, and having a written list of what you are looking for when you start the process can significantly help your sales counselor find the right home for you.


Be open and honest about your lifestyle, what is currently working for you in your home, and what things you are dissatisfied with to narrow down your search. 


What can I expect from the building process?

Buying a home can be a daunting process, but it shouldn't be. It is helpful to set up expectations and understand the buying process to ensure a smooth process for everyone. Don't be afraid to ask questions like: Who is my point of contact for questions throughout the process? What is the estimated build time for a home? Who is the construction manager on site? When purchasing a Kindred Home, your sales counselor or builder representative can help answer any questions that may arise during the process. They are there to help you feel comfortable and confident in your decision to purchase a Kindred Home. 


If you are purchasing a to-be-built from Kindred Homes, your builder representative will communicate with you throughout the process to update you on progress and timelines. They will be able to provide videos and photos of your home throughout the process and will walk through the house with you prior to closing. 


Who is the Construction Manager?

The Construction Manager is the person in charge of building your house. Just like you'd want to know about the electrician coming to fix your wiring or the plumber fixing your bathroom, it's important to know the Construction Manager's background. Questions to ask include: Where have you built before? How long have you been building homes? Additionally, it can be helpful to discuss communication style; that way, you know more about the person responsible for building your new home.


In addition to in-person meetings, Kindred Homes also offers homebuyers a chance to meet with their builders virtually to ask any questions they may have.


Now that you know some questions to ask yourself and your home builder, you'll feel more prepared throughout the process. Just remember, don't be afraid to ask about anything you don't understand, whether in person or virtually. Be true to yourself about your expectations and what you want from a home builder and your new home.
